What would you do as a member of the New York City Council?
How would you change the city approach to our public schools, our streets and our infrastructure?
I will be holding a "Council Member for a Day" Essay Competition. The winner will join me on the floor for an official meeting of the New York City Council.
Students attending grades five through eight in the district are invited to submit an essay on the subject of “What I Would Do as a Member of the City Council” by May 1, 2015. You can submit the essay in the form below or email it to bkallos@benkallos.com with the subject line “Council Member for a Day.” Don’t forget to include your full name, address, phone number and school.
There are no rules as far as length, but the essays should be roughly two pages, double spaced.
